Constitutional Iridology
Exploring constitutional patterns and tendencies through detailed observation of the iris
Constitutional Iridology is the detailed study of the topography, structure and visible characteristics of the iris. I look beyond iris colour alone, examining the architecture and movement of the iris fibres, structural variations, pigmentation, constitutional patterns and the recognised organ and tissue reflex areas represented within the iris.
Within iridology, changes and variations within these reflex areas are interpreted as potential indications of constitutional strengths, weaknesses, tendencies and areas of reactivity. The purpose is not simply to look at what is happening today, but to explore the deeper constitutional picture that each individual is born with and the tendencies inherited through our family lineage.
This gives me an additional perspective that nutritional and lifestyle assessment alone cannot provide. I consider the iris alongside your health history, current symptoms, nutrition, lifestyle and the other assessment modalities, looking for patterns and relationships that help me understand the individual as a whole.
My approach also recognises that health is not purely physical. We are physical, emotional and spiritual beings, and constitutional iridology provides another way of exploring the individual rather than reducing health to a collection of isolated symptoms or laboratory values.

What I Observe in Constitutional Iridology
Iris Structure
The overall architecture and visible structure of the iris.
Constitutional Characteristics
Features used within constitutional iridology to explore individual patterns and tendencies.
Fibre Patterns
The arrangement, density and appearance of the iris fibres.
Structural Characteristics
Other visible iris features are considered within the context of the overall iris rather than interpreted in isolation.
Colour & Pigmentation
Natural iris colour and other visible pigmentation characteristics.
What Happens During the Assessment?
The process is straightforward and non-invasive. High-quality images of each iris are captured using specialised equipment and magnification.
I examine the images in detail and, where appropriate, show you the features I am observing. This educational aspect is important because it allows you to see your own iris structure and better understand how the observations contribute to the wider assessment.
Looking at the Bigger Picture
Iridology is not used as a stand-alone diagnostic test within my practice. Its value within my integrative approach comes from considering constitutional observations alongside your health history, nutrition, lifestyle and observations made through other assessment methods.
Rather than drawing conclusions from an isolated iris characteristic, I look for broader patterns and areas that may warrant greater attention within the nutritional and lifestyle assessment.
An Important Distinction
Constitutional Iridology is used within my practice as an observational and educational assessment method. It is not used to diagnose disease and does not replace conventional medical examination, testing or diagnosis.
